Visited a friend today who is sweet, kind, fun, adventurous, involved in all kinds of volunteer & self-ed projects, & on top of it all, just plain *nice* - & who is needlessly apologetic about her messy house.
I told her I love her house (which is true, I do) & that I come to visit *her*, not audit her #housekeeping skills, but still she frets
So, I'm sending her this & in case others might need it as well, am posting it here for y'all ๐
Hi All,
I'm going to try to keep this to just my instance(s) (to limit replies):
Does anyone here know how birdsite users tweet longer than 140 characters in a single screen-shot?
I know about TwitLonger & that's not what I mean: it's as if they typed a paragraph, made a very clean, tidy picture of the text box, & uploaded it.
Which ... I'm assuming basically is what they did, but how exactly?
Thank you!
SOME CALL ME ARCHAIC
I CALL MYSELF DURABLE
Based on some recent conversations, I thought this might be good to send out.
*hugs* to you all
Because I feel the need to send you almost unbearable cuteness.
Boosted from @danie10 - Very helpful for new ppl! ๐๐
"Wondering what Instance to join? Don't forget there is a good previewer that will show you what discussions are taking place on an Instance before you sign up.
For example here is the link to the Maths Instance at http://www.unmung.com/mastoview?url=mathstodon.xyz&view=local.
*** You can change the Instance name on that page to view others ***."

A year ago, 12-year-old Aisha from #Pakistan set herself a major challenge: to read #books from every country in the world, โas well as some extra territories.โ
She is looking for recommendations as well as books to "appreciate all those (lesser-known) authors who are not appreciated for their work!"

Hero of the day ๐ Because even when #baking #KindnessMatters. ๐

@s_evansUP mostly new views and parks. When I go on walks like these, everything is interesting to me ๐
We have a Cafe near us which is pretty much just a kiosk with a communal space abutting it. and a park surrounding it.
It's the initiative of a Swiss French guy and his Turkish wife. He is a saxophonist and she an artist and photographer. They are a community-minded, eco-aware, kind-hearted couple and have attracted locals of a similar mind. Many people with mental-health issues feel at home there and no-one is judged. It's a true oasis in SE #London .
Most days I find it helpful to add this to my to-do list:

Am interested in the #HumanLibrary concept (see humanlibrary.org for details), but so far have only known of events in person.
The link below takes you to the first episode of a Human Library television series from #Denmark..
It is in *Danish* not English! But Mastodon is a multilingual place & perhaps it will be interesting/useful/helpful for *someone* here. ๐

Hero of the day ๐ #Pittsburgh woman who started non-profit organisation to ensure homeless/shelter kids have a #birthday celebration.
"โWe have a mission that is universally easy to understand. We all have birthdays, and everyone should know that they are loved, cared for, that theyโre noticed and special."
Liked this & wanted to pass it on; definitely worth watching and remembering. (And reading accompanying article.)
